Obituary for John Keeley

It is with heartfelt sadness the family announces the passing of John A. “Jack” Keeley, 80, of Royal Oaks, Moncton, NB, which occurred suddenly at The Moncton Hospital on Sunday, April 21, 2019. Born in Campbellton, NB, Jack was the oldest son of the late Ronald Keeley and Cora (Campbell).

Jack will be sadly missed by his loving wife and best friend of 59 years, Raymonde “Raye” (Boudreau), along with his four children, son, Ronald (Louise Fontaine); daughter, Lynn (Leonard LeBlanc); son, Marc; daughter, Carol (Douglas Kostynski). Jack’s pride and joy were his three grandchildren, Kirsten, Kyle and Kevan. Their “Poppy” was a wonderful man, loved like no other and will always be cherished. He was predeceased by his brother, Kenneth and sister, Alice (Doucette). He will also be missed by his brothers, Irvine (Isabelle); Gary (Ginette) of Campbellton, NB; Wayne (Louise) of Bridgewater, NS and sister, Cheryl (Ronald Barrieau) of Miramichi, NB; sisters-in-law, Jocelyne (Roger Comeau) and Monique of Rimouski, QC; as well as several nieces, nephews and good friends who he laughed with, lived for and loved.

Jack loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed many fishing trips, time spent at the camp, his summers at Pine Cone in Sussex and in recent years at the cottage in Cocagne.

He was renowned as the “Browning Man” and the “Legend”. Jack travelled the Gaspé coast for many years for Sumners Company until moving to Moncton in 1973. He retired at the young age of 75 from Browning Canada.

Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A Service to celebrate and honour Jack’s life will be held from Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at 11:00 am, with Rev. J. B. Mallais presiding. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment will be in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
