Obituary for Maurice Calhoun

Our assurance as a family rests in the knowledge that despite two years with pancreatic cancer, Maurice Douglas Calhoun of Fredericton, NB, husband of Debbie (Doak) Calhoun, kept his faith and joy, and has gone on to his heavenly reward on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on November 1, 1947 in Astle, NB, he was the son of the late Emerson and Eva (Dobson) Calhoun.

Maurice was a self employed truck driver with RST, for 40 years. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church and served as a deacon and had been on many mission trips. Maurice was a loving husband, father and grandfather and loved spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his wife, Maurice is survived by his daughters, Krista Woodworth (Bill) of Edson, AB, Marsha Calhoun (Jerry) of Fredericton, NB and Marianne Calhoun (Craig) of Fredericton, NB; son, Emerson Calhoun (Scott) of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Bradley, Brittany, Dustin, Tayne, Falyn and Isabella; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Currie (Rob) of Fort McMurray, AB and Sandra Calhoun of Fredericton, NB; brother, Paul Calhoun (Karen) of Cardinal, ON; mother-in-law, Myrtle; brother-in-law, Kevin Stokes; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his grandson, Benjamin and sister, Val Calhoun-Stokes.

Visitation will take place at Faith Baptist Church on Thursday, May 9, 2019 from 3 to 8 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at Faith Baptist Church, New Maryland, NB on Friday, May 10, 2019 at 1 pm with Pastor Larry Matthews and Rev. Steven Little officiating. Interment will take place in Faith Baptist Church Cemetery, New Maryland, NB.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Faith Baptist Church. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com James 1:2 NKJV
