Obituary for Robert Cormier

Robert “Bob” Cormier, 67, of Irishtown, joined his mother, on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 12, 2019, at The Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Amherst, NS, he was the son of the late Abbey and Charlotte (Legere) Cormier.

Bob retired from the grocery business in 2017, having worked with Sobeys, Dominion Stores, Village Stores, Mr. Grocer and finally, the Atlantic Superstore in Riverview. He also worked at Hub Meat Packers and the Esquire Tavern.

Bob enjoyed a nice cold Budweiser, being outdoors, summers spent at his trailer in Bouctouche, Thursday night card games with his best friends, Trudy and Len and most importantly spending time with his family and many friends.

Bob will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Paula (White) Cormier; his wonderful son, Scott Cormier (Sue); precious grandchildren, Dakota Cormier and Zoe Hamill; great grandchild, Parker Cormier; sisters, Debbie Boyd (David), Sherrie Elliott (Gordon Jackson), Joanne Oake (Mike Leger) and Heather Polley (Dougie); brothers, Doug Cormier (Arlene) and Darren Cormier (Natasha); as well as Nancy Andres (Matt) and Jody Mitchell, both who were like daughters to Bob; mother-in-law, Barbara White and brother-in-law, Irwin White; several special nieces, nephews and extended family members.

A gathering to celebrate and share memories of Bob’s life will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm in the Fergusons Funeral Home Reception Centre, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995).

In memory of Bob, donations to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Greater Moncton SPCA would be appreciated. Online condolences on the Funeral Home Facebook page or at www.fergusonsfuneralhome.com
