Obituary for Percy Allen

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Percy Edward Allen announces his passing, which occurred on Friday, May 10, 2019. Born in Saint John, N.B, he was a son of the late Percy and Marjorie (Ferrin) Allen.

Percy was a hard worker all his life. He worked all his life, and later enjoyed his retirement after working with the City of Saint John Works Department. Percy enjoyed Camping, fishing, hunting and anything outdoors. He lived his life to the fullest. Some of his favourite times were being with his children and grandchildren. His motto in life was “Never leave anybody alone in the woods.”

Percy is survived by his daughter Loretta Lavoie (Brian); sons Roger, John (Kim) and Percy; daughter-in-law Edie Allen; sister Alice Cook; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Also, his best friend Donnie Byers.

Aside from his parents, Percy is predeceased by his wife Louise Constance Allen; sons Gary and Earl; and siblings Bonnie Melvin, Marie Allen and John Hodgins.

Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, N.B. (634-7424). Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2019 from the Brenan’s Chapel at 10:00 AM. A reception will follow at Loretta’s House at 387 Fundy Drive.
