Obituary for Gilbert Doucet

1931 - 2019
With great sadness, we announce the passing of Gilbert Doucet, which occurred on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at the Dr-Georges-L.-Dumont UHC in Moncton after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Petit-Rocher, NB, he was the son of the late Laurent and Emma (Roy) Doucet.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 63 years, Lorraine Arseneau; his five children: Charline Vautour (Bernard), Yves (Dianne), Nicole Charlebois (Mario), Diane (Pierre), and Pierre (Nicole); his 13 grandchildren: Luc (Jessie), Isabelle (Denis), Suzelle, Philipe (Nathalie), Josée, Stéphane (Josée), Annie (Guillaume), Mélanie (Patrick), Marco (Lina), Gabrielle, Samuel, Jacob, and Véronique; his four great-grandchildren: Alexis, Max, Ben, and Félix; his brother, Raymond of Petit-Rocher, NB; and two sisters: Murielle of Bathurst, NB, and Pierrette of Dieppe, NB.

He was predeceased by his brother, Jean “John”, and three sisters: Marina, Victoria “Vicky” and Élizabeth Géralda “Gigi”.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton on Thursday, May 16 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm only. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Ste-Thérèse-de-l’Enfant-Jésus Roman Catholic Church, 457 Acadia Avenue, Dieppe on Friday, May 17 at 11 am. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe.
