Obituary for Médora Raîche

1926-2019
It is with great sadness that the family announces the death of Mrs. Médora Raîche, of Allardville, which occurred Monday, May 6th, 2019 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst at the age of 92 years and 5 months. Born in Pokesudie, she was the daughter of the late Lange and Marguerite “Maggie” Lanteigne.

She is survived by four daughters and four sons: Hermel (Carmel), Serge (Véronica), and Jacqueline (Yves Noël) all of Allardville, Rônald (France) of Metabetchouan, Jacques of Vancouver, Ginette Simard (Jean) of Sept-Iles, Lucette Muckler (Bobby) of Siegas, and Lucie (Fernand Guitard) of Petit-Rocher. 15 grandchildren: Noël-André, Annie, Stéphanie, Jean-Sébastien, Véronique, Barberra, Andy, Jonathan, Pascal, Andréanne, Annick, Ian, Sara-Êve, and Justine-Êva, Mathilde-Êve; as well as 12 great-grandchildren. Three sisters: Edwina Friolet, Jeanette Godin (Lionel) and Aurèla Chiasson. Two sister-in-laws: Lauraine (late Lorenzo), Desanges (late Joachim) and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by an infant daughter, Lucie (1951) and seven brothers: Albénie, Rhéal, Samuel, Lorenzo, Augustin, Joachim and Sylvio.

Médora worked for 17 years (1973-1991) with the Francophone School District as a janitor.

As per her final wishes, there will be no visitation at the funeral home. Funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, May 24th, 2019 at 4 p.m. from Christ-Roi Church, Allardville.

Donations in memory of Médora may be made to the Allardville Church or a charity of the donor’s choice.

Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
