Obituary for Raymond Wilson

WILSON: Raymond Joseph, Jr. passed away on May 14, 2019 at Passamaquoddy Lodge, St. Andrews, NB. Ray was born in St. Andrews, September 17, 1936, the son of Raymond Joseph Wilson and Mary Alcott Smith.

He was a 50–plus–years’ member of Local 772 (now Loc 325), Plumbers and Pipefitters Association, having received his gold watch and 50–year certificate in 2015. He was employed for most of his working life with C. W. Ritchie and Son and W. J. Beairsto Co. Ltd. until his retirement in 1996.

Ray enjoyed gardening and woodworking. He built the home in 1963 in which he and Joan lived with their three children. In 2005, he survived lung cancer surgery and brain cancer surgery.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joan (Woods) and three sons; Patrick (Lynn) of Dalhousie, NB; Mark (Sheila) of Moncton; and Gregg (Brenda) of New Glasgow, NS; grandsons, Jacob (Holli) and Noah (Katti) of Fredericton; Dakota Wilson and granddaughter, Kendall Wilson of New Glasgow; step–grandchildren, Ryan LeBlanc (Jay) of Dartmouth, NS and Kaytlyn Rennick (Addison) of Fredericton; great–grandchildren Daemon, Ryder and Adalyn Wilson; Ellie and Eli Wilson; Isabella, Ayla and Jade Rennick.

Ray is survived by a brother, William Wilson (Paula) of Bedford, NS, a sister, Sally Botting of Sault Ste. Marie, ON and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be no visitation or memorial service by request. Cremation by York Funeral Home. A family graveside service will take place at a later date.
