Obituary for Yvon Hachey

Passed away peacefully at home on May 15th, 2019 at the age of 85, Mr. Yvon Hachey of Charlo, husband of Bernadette Levesque. Born in Charlo on October 20th, 1933, son of the late Stanley Hachey and the late Yvonne Allard.

He worked as a blacksmith at the NBIP Mill for 22 years and at the Woodland's Company, also at the family owned business Stanley's Blacksmith Shop in Charlo. He was an avid story teller, a talented craftsman and a tool maker (pickaroons).

He is survived by his wife, Bernadette Levesque; his son Donald (Doreen) of Charlo; his daughter Pauline (late Robert Gaudreau) of Dalhousie; his son Guy (Pauline Carrier) of Charlo; his son Louis (Amber) of Saint John; two brothers, Léo (Phyllis) of Halifax and Camille (Ovilda) of Tracadie; his step–sons Roger Marcoux (Irene) of Eel River Crossing and Donald Marcoux (Josée) of Moncton; his many grandchildren, Jayson, Denis, Jamie, Chantal, Danielle, Megan, Jean–François, Benoit, Kayla, Vaughn, Miracle and Tierry; one great-grandchild, Hendrix.

Besides his parents he was predeceased by his first wife Marie–Reine Ouellette, two brothers, Paul and Armand; one sister Jeannine Gagnon.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. François–Xavier Church, Charlo, on Saturday, May 25th at 2 pm. Visitation at the Maher’s Funeral Home, 517, avec des Pionniers, Balmoral, Friday May 24th from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00.

Donations to a charity of the Donor’s Choice would be appreciated by the family.
