Obituary for Edna Griffith

The death of Edna Martha Christine Griffith, wife of the late W. Paul Griffith, occurred on May 12, 2019, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Caplin Cove, NFLD, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Julia (Young) Harris. She cherished her family, especially her son David, to whom she devoted her life.

She is survived by her sons Dan (Suzann) and David, her daughters Joan Richardson (Harold), Cathy McLeod (Edwin) and Christine (Dave), her sister Maxine Lockyer, sister-in-law Carrie Harris, and by her grandchildren Adam, Kaala (Lee), Alyssa (Amy), Drew (Eden), Caledonia, Hunter, Gareth (Emily) and Morwyn (Johnny), great-grandchildren Brooklyn and Lennon, along with several cousins, nieces and nephews. She leaves also her special friend and caregiver Holly, and her many friends in the Loch Lomond Villa community.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brothers Hedley, Walter, Frederick and Maxwell, and by her sisters Janet Badcock and Pearl Cousins.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, Saint John. A service of remembrance will take place in the Loch Lomond Villa chapel on Sunday, May 26, at 1:00pm, following which the family will host a reception and Celebration of Life, also at the Villa, until 4:00pm. A private family interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery at a later date.

Remembrances to the SPCA Animal Rescue League of Saint John, which Edna took great joy in supporting, or to the Palliative Care Unit of the Saint John Regional Hospital, would be appreciated.
