It is with appreciation for a life well lived that the family of Barbara Ferguson of Saint John, beloved wife of the late Everett “Skip” Ferguson announce her passing, which occurred on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at the Church of St. John and Stephen Nursing Home. Born on October 28, 1936 in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Campbell) Cunningham.

Barbara devoted her life to caring for the needs of those she loved and had been very active throughout her community. In her younger years, she was a devoted hockey and baseball mom, a gracious neighbourhood hostess, enjoyed bowling and a good game of golf. Barbara always treasured her summers at Cambridge Narrows and will be greatly missed.

Barbara’s family would like to express their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff of the Church of St. John and St. Stephen Nursing Home. The exceptional care, love and friendship provided to Barbara and her family will never be forgotten.

Barbara will be lovingly remembered by her children, Jim Ferguson of Stewiacke, NS (daughter–in–law, Susan Ahern), Barbara Anderson of Saint John and Mike Ferguson (Elvie) of Vancouver, BC; sister, Dawna Myshrall (Joseph) of Fredericton; grandchildren, Bill (Elizabeth), Mike, Kerri, Christopher, Shawna (Simon) and Brian; nine great–grandchildren; several nieces and nephews with a special thank you to Kenny and Kathy O’Brien Spencer.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her sisters, Elaine Botterill and Elizabeth “Betty” O’Brien.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634–7424) with visiting on Sunday, May 19, 2019 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A Celebration of Barbara’s life will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Monday, May 20, 2019 at 12 PM. A private family interment will take place in Old Cedar Hill Cemetery.
