Obituary for Florence Flewelling

FLEWELLING, FLORENCE MARIE

Florence Marie Flewelling, 76, of Grand–Barachois and formerly of Dundas, NB, with her loving husband Douglas by her side, passed away peacefully at The Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday, May 19, 2019.

Born in Sainte–Anne–de–Kent, NB, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Léa(LeBlanc) Boudreau. Florence retired as a Pastry Helper with Hotel Beausejour with 28 years service. She was a member of St. Lawrence O’Toole Roman Catholic Church where she served her church in various capacities over the years.

Florence was proud of her Acadian heritage, she enjoyed her many visits to Le Pays dela Sagouine, was an avid animal lover (especially birds), listening to Acadian music and spending time with her family and friends.

Florence will be sadly missed by her beloved husband of 55 years, Douglas Flewelling; daughters, Barbara Solomon (Tony and family) and Debbie Flewelling; grandson, Jesse Lawlor (Megan); sisters, Dianne Cormier (Maurel), Estelle Daigle (Joe), nephew, LucDaigle (Chantal), brother, Moril Leger, niece, Nancy Leger–Murphy (Guy); sister in law,Doris Austin; brother in law, Junior (Aurella); nephews, Darrell, Dean and Cary as well as extended family members.

In addition to her parents, Florence was predeceased by her brothers in law, Ray Austin and Donald Flewelling; father and mother in law, Aubrey and Rose–Marie (Caissie) Flewelling.

Resting at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858–1995) with visitation hours on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A service to celebrate and honour Florence’s life, with be held on Thursday May 23, at 12:00 pm from Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Laurence Quin–Morris presiding. Reception to follow in the Funeral Home Reception Centre. Interment to be held in Immaculate Conception Parish Cemetery, Rexton, NB.

In memory of Florence, donations in her memory can be made to St. Lawrence O’Toole Roman Catholic Church, Irishtown. Online condolences for the family can be made on the Funeral Home Facebook page or at www.fergusonsfuneralhome.com
