Obituary for Edward Groundwater

It is with sadness the family of Edward Groundwater of Hampton, announce his passing which occurred surrounded by his loving family his side at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Thursday May 16, 2019. Born in Saint John on August 3, 1945 he was the son of the late Benjamin and Hazel (Anderson) Groundwater.

Ed is survived by his loving wife of over 35 years Barbara (Chambers) Groundwater; brothers Robert and Reginald and sisters Joan and Doris; children Terri, Tracey (Cindy), Eddy (Buffy), Andrew (Michelle),Robert (Jennifer) and Steven (Jennifer); grandchildren Kellie, Steven, Kimber, Samantha, Cody, Madison,Kaitlyn, Jocelyn, Gabriel and Emily and chosen grandchildren Laura, Alex and Dominic; several great–grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends; canine companion Daisy May.

Along with his parents, Edwas predeceased by his brother–in–law Art Lewis and canine companion Jag.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646–2424)with visitation to be held on Thursday May 23, 2019 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. By request there will be no service.

In lieu of flowers donations in Ed’s memory can be made to the Palliative Care Unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital or to the charity of the donor’s choice. To send a message of condolence please visit www.fundyfuneralhome.com
