Obituary for John W. "Bill" Lowther

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of John W. "Bill" Lowther on May 19, 2019 at Hospice House in Fredericton at the age of 64. Born in Springhill, NS, he was the son of Ardith (Rector) Lowther and the late J. Les Lowther (2012).

Bill leaves behind his wife, Janice (LeBlanc); children, Julie Cormier (Kevin) and Conrad; grandchildren, Tamara (Mitchell), Brandon, Brianna, Taylor (Braidon), and Brady; great grandchildren, Sophie, Eli, and Hudson. In addition to his mother, Ardith, he also leaves his brother, Chuck; sisters, Cheryl (Glynn) and Diana (Clarence); several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members and many friends.

Bill loved music and played bass in several local bands. He was also a member of the Oromocto Legion Branch # 93 and was active in the dart community. Bill retired from Agriculture Canada after 30 years of service.Special thanks to the staff of the Oromocto and Chalmers Hospitals as well as to the staff of Hospice Fredericton and Oromocto Extra Mural.

Visitation will be held at Oromocto Funeral Home on Thursday, May 23, 2019 from 2–4 and 7–9 pm. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #93 will hold a tribute beginning at 6:45 pm. Inurnment will take place in Oromocto Pioneer Gardens Cemetery at a later time.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill's memory can be made to Hospice Fredericton. Online condolences can be made at www.oromoctofh.com.
