Obituary for John Gorham

The passing of John Clifford Gorham occurred on May 23rd, 2019 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton, NB after a brief illness. J

John was born in Saint John, NB, February 21st, 1938 to Stanwood and Blanche (Long) Gorham, of Long Reach, NB. John was known as a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend to all who knew him. He loved fishing, woodworking, Nascar and spending time at both his cottage on Long Reach and camp on the Dungarven.

He married the love of his life, Carole (Lutes) Gorham on June 16th, 1962, and together the pair had two daughters, Susan and Lynne.

He is predeceased by his parents and brother Robert Gorham (Shirley).

He leaves behind his wife, Carole, daughters Susan (Peter Shaw) and Lynne (Steven Francis), grandchildren, Laura (Eric), Katie, Sam, and Lily, and several nieces, nephews and countless friends.

To know John was to love John and to be loved by him. He enjoyed visiting with friends and family, young and old and with this in mind his family will host a Celebration of Life later this summer. In the meantime if you knew John please think of a fond memory of him and smile, raise a glass, help a friend or cast a line in his honour.

Many thanks to the excellent team of doctors and nurses at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital who always treated John with care and compassion.

With this in mind the family asks that any donations in John’s honour be made to the Chalmers Hospital Foundation. Online condolences may be made at www.mcadamsfh.com
