Obituary for Rosa Hiltz-Langis

Rosa B. Hiltz–Langis, Dieppe, NB, passed away peacefully, in the palliative care unit, at the Dr. Georges L.–Dumont University Hospital Centre, on Sunday, May 26, 2019. Born in Marriotts Cove, NS, she was the daughter of the late Charles E. Hiltz and Bernice S. (Eisener) Hiltz.

Rosa leaves behind her husband Roland R. Langis, Dieppe, NB; daughter Judy (Doug) Eaton, Toronto, ON; son Robert (Mike) Kerr, Ottawa, ON,; grandsons: Drew (Monica) Eaton, Duncan, BC, and Craig (Chrystal) Eaton, Toronto, ON; great–grandchild, Lucas (Craig and Chrystal) Eaton, Toronto, ON; sister Sylvia Clattenburg, Dartmouth, NS; niece Donna (Frank) Hartigan, Dartmouth, NS; as well as sister and brother–in–law Rita and Pete Langis, Shediac, NB.

Rosa had the ability to light up a room. Her charm was most apparent in the way she effortlessly connected with people. They responded to her wherever she went, whether it be a former, local department store (Krista F. et al.); in the grocery store (Hazel, Wayne et al.); dinning out (the PHB crew) or attending jazz (Le Caveau – Roslyn M., Plan b – Tracy P.) where the band (Jazz Generation(s), Les Improbables) would often acknowledge her presence by playing “My Foolish Heart”: a.k.a. Rosa’s tune. She will be fondly remembered by many.

While working as an Office Administrator, at Mount Allison University, Rosa earned a degree there, and was part of its 1987 graduating class.

Final arrangements have been entrusted to Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858–1900). There will be no visitation and Rosa's life journey will be marked, during the summer, when it ends where it began, in Nova Scotia.

Anyone thinking about a gesture in Rosa’s memory might consider, a donation to the Alzheimer’s Society of New Brunswick or the Palliative Care Unit of the Dr. Georges L.–Dumont University Hospital Centre.
