Obituary for Gordon Eagles

Gordon Fenwick Eagles, 102, of The Glades, passed away on May 27, 2019 at the Jordan Life Care Centre. Born in Monteagle, he was the son of the late Edgar and Ella (Taylor) Eagles.

A retired dairy farmer, he was a member and former Deacon of the First North River Baptist Church, created tape ministry, and was involved with Transport for Christ. He worked in the sawmill and was a herdsman for his uncle and enjoyed Hockey and Baseball.

Gordon is survived and sadly missed by his children, Sandra Powers or Sussex, Charlene Richmond (Wayne) of North Carolina, Stephen Eagles (Karen) of Moncton, Ronald Eagles (Sandra) of Alberta; 17 grandchildren, 24 great–grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Hazel; son, Richard Powers; great–granddaughter, Janessa Siebert; sisters, Frances Eagles, Audrey Loftus, Ruth Steves, and infant sister, Bertha; brothers, Basil, Lawrence, Gesner, Nelson and Ernest.

Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Route 106, Salisbury West (372–4800) from where visitation will take place Friday, May 31 from 6 to 9 pm, and from where Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 1, at 11 am with Rev. Wayne Hagerman officiating.

Interment will be held at Monteagle Cemetery, Monteagle, NB. If desired, memorials to World Vision or First North River Baptist Church would be appreciated.
