Obituary for Lee Burgess

Lee John Burgess, 71, of Petitcodiac passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at the Moncton Hospital with his family by his side. Born in Glenvale, NB he was the son of Glenna Burgess and the late Frances Burgess.

He was employed at Canada Cement Plant until the early 80's, then went on to be a lumberman, for many years, then went to work at DOT and retired in 2017. He loved his family very much and spoke of his children and grandchildren with a sparkle in his eye. He was proud of them all. He had a great passion for his horses over the years, going to horse shows, doing sleigh rides, winter carnival and was past president of WCAF.

He is survived and sadly missed by his wife of 52 years, Mary (Lockhart); five daughters, Tina, Beverley (Pat Howe), Sherrie, Kim (David Hodgson), Kerry (Mark St. Louis); 18 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sisters, Vera Crossman (Jon), Gail Crossman (Gene); several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides his father, he was predeceased by mother-in-law, Dora Lockhart; father-in-law, Charles Lockhart; granddaughter, Lacey-Jay Taylor; and infant great-granddaughter, Laura Hicks.

A private family graveside service will be held at Maplewood Cemetery. Family and Friends are invited to a Celebration of Lee's Life on Friday, May 31, 2019 from 5 - 8 pm at the Motor Sports Hall of Fame, 5 Hooper Lane, Petitcodiac.

For those who wish, memorials to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Diabetes Association or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.

Funeral arrangements are in the care of Armstrongs Funeral Home, 33 Russell St, Petitcodiac. (756-3361)
