Obituary for Francine Maurice

On Thursday, June 6th, 2019, Francine Maurice passed away peacefully at the age of 64, after a short battle with cancer.

Francine is survived by her daughter (Sofie), son–in–law (Dave), grandson (Gabe), as well as her sisters Jocelyne (Pierre), Louise (Gerard) and Sylvie (Gilles) and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents (Janine and Roland) as well as her husband (Bill).

Though she presented a tough exterior, you didn’t have to be in her presence long to realize she was a generous, thoughtful and caring person. She spent time making jams, jellies and relish for others to enjoy, an important way she demonstrated her love for the friends and family she valued so much. Independent and strong, she enjoyed drinking Tim’s coffee, going for a ride on her Harley, quilting and volunteering at the Yukon Quest sled dog race.

She overcame her fear of flying to travel to Yukon to visit her grandson 3 to 4 times a year. The frequency of her visits meant she developed a community of friends who will miss her dearly. Whether in Yukon or NB, Francine was appreciated by all who knew her for her honesty and no–nonsense approach to life.

The Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, June 12th from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Dolma Foods, 2nd floor at 251 St George Street, Moncton.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the CHUDUMONT Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
