Obituary for Ronald McCarthy

It is with heavy hearts the family of Ronald Francis McCarthy, loving husband of Dale Frances (Clements) McCarthy announces his passing which occurred on Monday, June 10, 2019 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, NB on August 4, 1946 he was the son of the late Ronald Bernard and Margaret Mary (Keleher) McCarthy.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brother Pat McCarthy and his best friend Bill McGrath.

Ron was the owner and operator of Replay Amusements and later R & T Pawn Shop on Main Street. He enjoyed hunting and fishing at the Bar-O, but he cherished his time with his grandchildren the most. Papa Ron never missed Jacob’s ball games or any of his grandchildren’s activities.

Besides his loving and devoted wife Dale, of 49 years he is survived by his sons Gavin (Julie) of Australia, Jason (Sherry) of Upper Golden Grove; daughter Sheri of Lakeside; grandchildren Navarre, Andre and Madeleine of Australia and Jacob, Molly and Meghan of Upper Golden Grove; brothers Tommy and Paul of Willow Grove, and Mike (Rachel) of Saint John; sister-in-law Sandra of Willow Grove; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Following cremation, visitation will be held from Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) on Thursday, June 13 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. His memorial service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, June 14 at 10 a.m. followed by a reception. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
