Obituary for B. Alex Darrah

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of B. Alex Darrah of Sussex, NB on June 11th, 2019 at the Sussex Health Centre with family by his side. Alex was in his 81st year. He was the loving and devoted husband to Barbara (Keith) Darrah of 63 years. Born in Chipman NB on February 24, 1938, a son of the late Almond "Allie" Darrah and Marie (Bishop) Darrah.

Besides his wife Barbara, Alex is survived by his daughter Nancy Welton and John of Long Creek: son Peter Darrah and Rhonda of Fredericton: grandsons Christopher and Serena of Edmonton: Matthew and Robin of Sussex: granddaughter Teneisha of Fredericton and great-grandchildren, Vayda, Brooklyn, Abigail and Ethan; and brothers Archie and Rita, Bob and Sharon and Johnny; sisters Carrie and Ray Vince, Vera Protz, Marylou and Randy Dickinson; sister-in-law Mary Darrah; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Alex was predeceased by his brothers Hazen and Basil, sisters Lorna Hopkins and Hugh, Hazel Randles and Bill and brother-in-law Gordon Protz.

Alex drove school bus for 30.5 years and was custodian at Chipman Elementary School. He was a member and elder of Woodland United Church, Pearsonville.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex (506-433-1176) from where visitation will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2019 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. Funeral Service will be held at Wallace Community Chapel on Friday, June 14, 2019 at 11 am. A private family burial will be held at Coles Island Cemetery.

For those who wish donations in memory of Alex may be made to the Millstream United Pastoral Charge, Extra Mural or charity of your choice. Condolences to the family and donations may be made through WallaceFuneralHome.com
