Obituary for James McAlinden

The passing of James "Jim" McAlinden occurred suddenly on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, NL following a car accident on May 11, 2019.

Beloved father of Erika McCoy (Nathan) and Jamie McAlinden (Cheryl). Proud Grandpa of Taylor, Emily and soon to be born granddaughter. Cherished son of Mary McAlinden. Loving brother of Cathy Gray, Patricia Belmore, Susan MacNabb, Deborah Weir (Steven) and Stephen (Eleanor). Fun loving uncle to several nieces and nephews. Fondly remembered by Barbara Benoit–McAlinden.

Predeceased by his father Robert "Bob" McAlinden.

Jim was proud to be an active member of every community he was a part of. Jim loved to work with his hands and was proud of every creation he made. Jim was a proud volunteer firefighter and Lions Club member.

The hole this leaves within the family and community is immense.

Funeral service will take place June 14, 2019 at noon at St. Dunstan’s Catholic Church. Light refreshments and reception immediately after the service at the Monsignor Boyd Family Centre with internment to follow at St. Dunstan's Hermitage Cemetery in Fredericton, NB.

For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Addiction Services or the charity of the donor's choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.country–haven.ca
