Obituary for Joyce Flewelling

Joyce Loraine Flewelling, 77, of Salisbury, NB, and recently of Omar, WV, died August 13, 2018 from cancer and dementia. Joyce was born in Fredericton, NB on May 4, 1941.

Joyce was very proud of attending and graduating from UPBI–Marysville, NB (United Pentecostal Bible Institute) and Zion Bible Institute, Providence, RI. She became an ordained minister in 1992. Joyce's interests including teaching and genealogy. She was a teacher at Apostolic Christian Training School, Middlesex, NB; Washington Irving Middle School in Clarksburg, WV and Woodstock Christian Academy, Woodstock, NB. There they created the Joyce Flewelling Memorial Bursary. She contributed time and research to a book about her family history, The Descendants of Edmund and Jane (Webb) Price: One of the Very Early English – Speaking Couples to Settle on the St. John River.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey Flewelling and Erma Villa Delta (Hovey) Wright, and step–father Douglas James Wright. Three husbands preceded her in death; Domenick Yoney, Ervin Canfield, and Donald Wasend, as well as her first grandchild, Byron Hebert. Others gone too soon include siblings Wayne Flewelling, Preston, and Mary Ellen Wright.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Robin Yeatman, Domenick (Motoko) Yoney, and Heather Colley, with whom Joyce made her home. Grandchildren Tom (Crystal) Hebert, Jeffrey, Michael and Jenna Colley, and great–granddaughter Aria Hebert also mourn her loss, along with her brothers and sisters; Douglas, Willis, Harold (Cheryl) Wright, Lillian Vautour, Darlene Argue and Jeri Wright.

Services will be held at 3:00 pm on June 22, 2019 at Mission Point, Saint John, NB.
