Obituary for Velma Trevors

Velma Marie Trevors,72, of Miramichi, NB, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2019 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital. Born in Chatham, NB, the daughter of the late Albain and Carmella (Martin) Turbide.

Velma is survived by her loving husband of 52 Years, Mervin Trevors, sons: Blair Trevors of Shearwater NS, Keith Trevors (Leanne) of Edmonton Alberta, Grandchildren: Lindsay Cruz (Erivan), Terry Trevors, Holly Trevors. Step-grandchildren Haley, Abby, Liam Young and great-grandson Cameron Cruz, and adopted daughter Kimberly McLean of Greenwood NS. She is also survived by her sisters; Merilda Fowlie (late Robert) of Barrie, ON, Virgine Durelle (Paul) of Escuminac, Lucia McCulloch (Francis) of Oshawa, ON, Jolaine Fowlie (Kevin) of Little Branch, Paulette Turbide (John) of Kalamazoo, Michigan USA, Brothers: Antonio (Zoe) Turbide (Shirley) of Miramichi, Andre Turbide (Janice) of Escuminac, and many nieces and nephews.

Velma Marie Trevors rested at Maher’s Funeral Home, 35 University Avenue, Miramichi, NB on Monday, June 10, 2019 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at 11:00 am at Saint Michael’s Basilica, Miramichi, NB, with Celebrant Father John Fraser, Con-Celebrant Father Leon Creamer. Readers were Christine Turbide and Debbie Rinas. Hymns were Here I am Lord, The Lord Is My Shepherd, Songs of the Angels, Gentle Women, Amazing Grace by St. Michael’s Choir with Organist David Bunnell. The Old Rugged Cross by soloist Paul Gregoire. Pallbearers were George Clancy, Brandon Fowlie, Alain Durelle, Terry Trevors, Larry Carroll, Bill Malley. Honorary Pallbearers were Carmel and Bill McIntyre, Thelma and Blair Carroll, June and Robert Scott, Bernice and Doug Gilliland. Honor Guard were co-workers from Portage Restaurant. Interment will be in Saint Michael’s Cemetery.

As an expression of sympathy, a donation may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association (www.diabetes.ca) would be appreciated.
