Obituary for Marshall Lewis

1944–2019
The passing of Marshall Roland Lewis occurred on May 26, 2019 at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston, South Carolina. Marshall was born in Saint John, New Brunswick, October 25, 1944 to George and Blanche (Marshall) Lewis.

He is survived by his wife Melva (Haché) and son Andrew of Pawleys Island, South Carolina; brother Milford (Joan) of Mactaquac, New Brunswick and sister Linda (Stephen) of Toronto, Ontario and his favourite Aunt Vivian (Marshall) Wright of Digby, Nova Scotia. Marshall is also survived by brothers–in–law Vila (Gisile) Haché and Nivard (Regine) Haché in Bathurst, New Brunswick and by several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Marshall was predeceased by sister–in–law Jeannine and brother–in–law Raymond Haché.

A proud graduate of Saint John High School in Saint John, New Brunswick in 1963, Marshall soon embarked in a successful and lengthy 37 year career with the Toronto Dominion Bank. He held various positions in Administration and Human Resources in Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver and Winnipeg in Canada and a 13 year posting in Manhattan, New York, USA. In 1993 he was transferred back to Toronto to run Human Resources for Toronto Dominion Securities Operations, both Canadian and overseas. Upon his retirement in 2001 Marshall and family have enjoyed residing in Pawleys Island, South Carolina.

A man blessed with a quiet strength, wisdom and a good, albeit quirky sense of humour, he is greatly missed by his loving family and his many friends. His family appreciates the expert care afforded Marshall at MUSC and the many expressions of condolence.

A celebration of Marshall’s life will be arranged by the family at a future date.
