Obituary for Marie Alma McFarlane

M. Alma McFarlane of Fredericton, NB and formerly of Canterbury, NB, wife of the late Allison McFarlane, passed away on June 12, 2019 at Shannex Thomas Hall in Fredericton. Alma was born at Ste. Anne de Madawaska, NB on July 8, 1924, a daughter pf the late Edmund and Adele (Mazerole) Cyr.

Alma was an active member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Canterbury, NB and with her love of music, sang in the church choir. She enjoyed the outdoors, nature, walking and snow shoeing.

She is survived by two daughters, Sharol Grant (Gary) and Gail Graham (Curtis), both of Canterbury, NB; four sons, Gerald McFarlane (Joanne), St. Albert, AB, James McFarlane (Susan), David McFarlane (Maryse), both of Upper Kingsclear, NB and Roger McFarlane, Edmonton, AB; 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Ida Grant, Oshawa, ON; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Cecile Marshall, Betty Ritchie, Yvonne Grant, Rudolf, Claude, Albert, Leo and Ronald Cyr.

Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB on Saturday, June 15, 2019 from 1 to 2 pm, followed by a celebration of life service at 2 pm with Rev. Wandalyn Snelgrove officiating. Interment at Canterbury Cemetery.

For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Alma, the family has suggested the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Alzheimer Society or Canterbury Cemetery. www.flewellingswan.com
