Obituary for Angus Reid

Angus A. Reid, 94, of the Veterans Health Centre and formerly of Maple St., Moncton, passed away peacefully at his residence on Wednesday, June 12, 2019. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Elliot and Alice “Carrie” (Little) Reid.

Angus retired as a Carman from CNR with 30 years’ service and was an avid gardener. He was a Veteran of WWII, having served in Belgium, Holland and Germany.

Angus will be sadly missed by his wife of over 65 years, Ruby (Glencross) Reid; sons, Lloyd Reid (Karen) of Edmonton, AB and John Reid (Linda) of Shawnigan Lake, BC; grandchildren, Erin, Colleen (Joseph), Andrew (Lauren), Brittany, Brigitte and Brighton, as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Hilda, Annie "Nan", Vera, Margaret, Kathleen "Kay" and Myrtle and brothers, Lloyd and George.

A special thank you to the Veterans Health Centre for their care and kindness to our dad during his stay.

Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (885-1995) on Friday, June 21, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A private graveside Committal Service will be held for the family at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Clairville. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 11:00 am in Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Paul Steeves officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service.

In memory of Angus, donations to the Greater Moncton SPCA or St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Clairville would be appreciated. Online condolences for the family may be shared at www.fergusonsfuneralhome.com
