Obituary for Leonce “Jeff” Bourque

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Leonce “Jeff” Bourque, 88, of the Villa Providence, Shediac on Wednesday June 19, 2019. Born in Shediac, he was the son of the late Jeff and Regina (Poirier) Bourque.

Leonce worked many years with MacDonald Paving and further on as a woodman. He had a passion for horses and enjoyed spending time at his camp with all his friends.

He will sadly be missed by his wife of 62 years, Christina Bourque née Brine; his children: Bernice Bourque (Rob), Paul (Gisèle) both of Shediac and Brenda LeBlanc (Marcel) of Moncton; one brother, Normand “Jeff” (late Thérèse) of Shediac; his only granddaughter, Jessica LeBlanc (Denis); two special great-granddaughters, Anabelle and Veronique, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by a son, “Ti-Jean”; two sisters: Denise Henderson and Bernadette Dunn; one brother, Yvon; two half-brothers: Edgar and Léandre; one half sister, Lilly.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac on Friday June 21 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and Saturday from 9:30 am till time of departure (10:20 am). The funeral mass will be celebrated at St-Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 415 Main Street, Shediac on Saturday June 22, 2019 at 10:30 am. Interment will be in parish cemetery.

In memory of Leonce, a contribution to the Villa Providence (activity department) would be appreciated.
