Obituary for Arlene St. Pierre

Arlene Helen St. Pierre (Burns), widow of the late Paul E. St. Pierre of Riverview, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family at the Moncton City Hospital on Wednesday, June 12, 2019. Arlene was born on January 14, 1937 in Alma, NB to John E. Burns (Doris) and Vola Lewis (Ira).

Arlene is survived by her five children Michael Watson (Deb) of Pennsylvania USA, Pierrette Smith (Bill) of Calgary, AB, Sandra Arsenault (Mike) of Saint John, NB, Paul St. Pierre Jr. (Sherry) of Moncton, NB, James Watson of Toronto, ON; sister–in–law Josephine of Ontario; grandchildren Brandie, Carmen, Gene and Madison; great–grandchildren Emma, Daniel, Curtis and Robyn; one great–great–granddaughter Savannah.

Arlene is predeceased by the love of her life Paul E. St. Pierre; her parents John E. Burns and Vola Lewis, four brothers Donald Burns, Carl Burns (Edith), Kenneth Burns (Eileen) and John Burns (Patricia).

Keeping with Arlene’s wishes, there will be no public service. She has donated her body to the Department of Medical Neuroscience at Dalhousie University. A small family memorial service will be held at a later date.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the wonderful nurses and doctors of the MCH Palliative Care Unit (with special thanks to Murray RN whose nightly stories put a smile on her face) as well as the M.A.I.D. NB team. Dr. Morcom, Dr. Hachey and Marilyn RN showed great compassion and provided great comfort to Arlene and our family during this time.

Donations if desired can be made to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation.
