Obituary for Shirley Fowler

Shirley Anne Fowler, 80, of Moncton, formerly of Salisbury, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at the Georges L. Dumont University Hospital, Moncton. Born in Anagance, she was the daughter of Omer and Hattie (Rouse) Freeman, and widow of Delbert Fowler.

Shirley was a retired cook at the Jordan Life Care Centre, and a member of the Wheaton Settlement United Baptist Church. After retirement, she enjoyed life on the road with her husband Delbert, and their camper trailer in tow. Together they visited Alaska, Florida, and many places in between.

Shirley is survived and sadly missed by her daughters, Karen Steeves-Simmons (Ellis), Katherine Cameron (Michael); sons, Kimberley (Beverly), Lewis (Cindy) and Jeffrey (Hectorine) Steeves; step-daughter, Deborah Jones (Brian); 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two daughters, infant Patricia, and Pamela Reid and her brother Eldon Freeman.

Special thank you to Dr. Yves Thibeault and Dr. Shana Balfour and the Dr. Georges L. Dumont University Hospital Unit 4A and F and the Dialysis Department for the good care Shirley received.

Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Route 106 (372-4800) with visiting Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at 11am followed immediately by the Funeral Service at 1 pm with Rev. Blair Holden officiating. Interment at Fairhaven Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Dialysis Unit at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont University Hospital, or the Gunningsville Baptist Church would be appreciated by the family.
