Obituary for Phillip Allen Lawson CD1

Philip A. Lawson of Skiff Lake, NB passed away on July 10, 2019 at his home. Philip was born on May 8, 1932 at Grafton, NB, a son of the late Guy and Gertrude (Watson) Lawson.Philip served 26 years with the Canadian Army, with two tours in Germany and one tour in Cyprus.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Bell) Lawson; his children, Dorine Dennique (Richard), Edmonton, AB, Richard Lawson (Patti), Pembroke, ON, Dennis Lawson, Canterbury, NB and Karan Burgher (Dean), Winnipeg, MB; six grandchildren, Jennifer (John), Joey (Sandra), Erin (Kyle), Brett (Stephanie), Christina and Tim; ten great-grandchildren, Alysa, Zack, Evan, Michael, Ryan, Ellie, Kylie, Zoey, Chloe and Alexis; his siblings, Willard Lawson, Joyce Sewell (Ralph), Carole Likely, Frank Lawson, Winston Lawson and Lloyd Lawson (Wilma); sisters–in–law and brothers–in–law in the Bell family, Ellen Cunningham, Gerald Bell (Carol), Jean Kitchen, Diana MacIlroy (Ashley), Velma Stone (Gerald), Willis Bell (Jacquelyn), Charles Bell (Linda) and Wayne Bell (Deborah); several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by siblings, Murray Lawson and Lois Ann Lawson; brothers–in–law, Dr. John Likely, Roy Cunningham and Wayne Kitchen; sisters–in–law, Judy Lawson, Marion Lawson, Mary Lawson, Helen Lawson and Dorinne Bell and a nephew, Corry Sewell.

Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB on Friday evening from 6 to 9 pm. A Royal Canadian Legion Tribute Service will be held at 6 pm. Funeral service will be held at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 139 Main Street, Canterbury, NB on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 2 pm with Canon Jim Irvine officiating. A reception will follow at the Canterbury Seniors Country Club. Interment will be at a later date at the Lawson–Ballentine Cemetery, Bull Lake, NB.
