Obituary for Daniel Paul Finnigan

With heavy hearts and profound sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of Daniel Paul Finnigan which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday, July 10th, 2019, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Born 1960, in Saint John, he is the son of Velma (McAleer) and the late Arthur Finnigan.

Danny was a Lieutenant of the Saint John Fire Department with 33 years of service. He was a member of the YMCA for 40 years and enjoyed golfing, travelling and sports. Danny cherished every moment spent with his family.

Danny is survived by his best friend and loving wife Sheryl (Ross) of 31 years; brothers Patrick Finnigan (Donna) of Quispamsis, Terry Finnigan (Lori) of Quispamsis; sisters Ann Marie Melanson of Saint John, Susan Smith (Ed) of Saint John; sister–in–law Janice Finnigan of Halifax, NS; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.

Besides his father, Danny was predeceased by his brother Michael.

A special thank you to 5A South and MICU for their care and compassion.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646–2424) with visitation being held on Saturday, July 13th from 5 to 8 p.m. and Sunday, July 14th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Funeral Service will take place from the Fundy Funeral Home chapel on Monday, July 15th at 1 p.m. followed by an interment at Church of the Good Shepherd Cemetery.
