Obituary for Stanley Smith

The death of Stanley “Sonny” Wilbert Smith, age 86, of Waterford, NB occurred on July 10, 2019 at the Kiwanis Nursing Home. He was born on May 16, 1933 in Damascus, NB, a son of the late Percy and Marjorie (Arnburg) Smith and husband of Helen (Gallant) Smith.

He is survived by his wife Helen of 65 years; their children Brenda Wright (Wally) of Saint John, NB, Steve Smith of Waterford, NB; grandchildren Julia Wright (Patrick), Kate Wright (Brendan), Isaac Smith, Ashley Smith (Mike); sister Thelma (Robbie) Fraser and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his sisters Dora Brown, Evelyn Peters, Dorothy Edwards, Ruth Woods; brothers Robert and Ralph.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex NB (506–433–1176) from where visitation will be held on Friday, July 19, 2019 from 2 to 5pm. Funeral Service will take place at Wallace Community Chapel on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 1:00pm.

Donations in memory of Stan may be made to the Canadian Association of Disabled Skiers (CADS NB) c/o Poley Mountain, Kiwanis Nursing Home, The Saint John Branch of the Alzheimer’s Society or to the charity of your choice.
