Obituary for Jeanne MacDonald

Jeanne Elizabeth MacDonald (nee Hogan), born May 11, 1928 (Halifax, NS) passed away peacefully at home on June 26, 2019, surrounded by family and friends.

Jeanne was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Roy (Scotty), her sister Florence (Dolly) Ruggles, her infant son Clifford, and grandson Ian McDonald.

She will be greatly missed by her children Ronald (Lynne), Deborah McDonald (Victor Byskal), Dawn (Tim) Dixon, all of Calgary; and Stephen (Denise) of Riverview, NB. She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren Matthew, Eric, Mark, Bronwyn, Michael, Reid and Olivia.

Jeanne was a sweet and kind soul, and her family believed she had been sent from Heaven. Following Roy’s retirement, the couple moved from Riverview, NB to Calgary, to be closer to their children. They enjoyed their winter getaways to Arizona, spending time with Jeanne’s dear niece Carol (Dave) Harrison, and her family. Nanny, as she was known, took great joy in attending numerous activities with her children and grandchildren.

A private family interment took place at Eden Brook Memorial Garden, where Roy and Jeanne will rest together.

Heartfelt thanks go out to her caregivers, and especially her daily companion Sarah, and her neighbourhood friend Lynn.
