Obituary for Dennis Bamford

Dennis Stewart Bamford (Pa) passed away on July 17, 2019, surrounded by his family at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born May 22, 1937 in Saint John, NB, he was the son of the late Harry and Katie (Pinnock) Bamford. He lived most of his life in New Brunswick where he enjoyed being a member of Boy Scouts, the St. Martins Lions Club and the St. Martins Volunteer Fire Department. Dennis served with the Canadian Air Force for 10 years before becoming a long-time employee of NB Tel/Bell Aliant retiring in 1997. He was an avid naturalist, artist and photographer. He had a passion for reading and gathering information which he could then tell his family.

Dennis was a beloved husband to Anne (McAloon) Bamford, an adored father to daughters; Beverly (Andrew) Thibodeau, Katie (Duane) Moore, Christine Bamford (Stephen Chisholm) and Susan (Jon) Fraser; brother to; Roland (Liz), David (Karen) and Glendon (Linda) Bamford, uncle to several nieces and nephews and Pa to more than his own. Pa's great joy in later life was watching his grandchildren in all their adventures. He made many swords, forts and castles for Clark, David, Dennis, Paige, Anna, Claire, Owen and Celia. He was predeceased by his son David Stewart Bamford.

Following cremation, the family will receive relatives and friends at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424), on Sunday, July 21, 2019, from 2:00 until 3:00pm at which time The Celebration of Life Service will take place. Remembrances made to the UNB Linda Sales Memorial Bursary, the St. Martins Volunteer Fire Department or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
