Obituary for Roland Forest

1935 – 2019
Roland Forest, 84, of Dieppe, passed away on Sunday, July 21 2019, at the Dr. Georges–L.–Dumont University Hospital Center, Moncton. Born in Lavernière, Îles–de–la–Madeleine, QC, he was the son of the late Damase Forest and the late Henriette Gaudet.

Prior to retirement, Roland worked as a flight service specialist (radio operator) with Transport Canada for 32 years. He was an active member of AA, for the past 40 years. Being from the Magdelen Islands, he enjoyed playing music and had a particular love for the ocean. He was a member of Saint–Anselme parish.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Thérèse (née: Martin); his daughters: Genevieve (Claude Allard) of Fredericton, Isabelle of Moncton and Annick (Claudio Guanais Liberal) of Vancouver, BC; his grandchildren: Catherine Allard, Jean–François Allard and Juan Diego Roland Forest; his sisters: Yvette (Gustave Boudreau), Janine (late Armand Gaudet), his brother Jacques (Odette Gaudet), all of Brossard, QC, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his sisters: Noëlla, Cécile, Bertha and Marie–Jeanne and also by his brothers: Évé, Elphège, Éric and Henri.

Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, (857–1901) on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. only. The Burial Mass will be celebrated at the Saint–Anselme Roman Catholic Church in Dieppe, on Friday, July 26 2019, at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at the Saint–Anselme parish cemetery in Dieppe.

Donations to the CHU–Dumont Foundation “Cardiology” or a memorial of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.www.chartersville.com
