Obituary for Donald Gallant

Donald “Cashecou” Gallant, 78, of Shediac, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2019 at the Dr. Georges–L. Dumont UHC. Born in Shediac, he was the son of the late Ernest and Florence (Smiley) Gallant.

He retired as a Master Corporal having served from 1958 to 1989 with the 1st Battalion of Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry. He enjoyed fishing, singing and cooking.

He is survived by a daughter, Catherine Gallant of White Rock BC; a son, Stephen Gallant (Ceci) of Costa Rica and a grandson, Tasos; his siblings: Linda Bowden (Charlie) of Shediac, Marceline Boyce (late Jack) of North Bay ON, Gordon of Shediac, Gary (Koko) of Shediac, Alex of Michigan US, Rodrigue of Fort Erie ON and Rodney of North Bay ON, also survived by several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his siblings: Leslie, Butch, Allan, George, Arthur, Béatrice Landry, Juliette Cormier and two infants: Elsie and Leslie.

According to his wishes, there will be no visitation and no funeral service.

In memory of Donald, a contribution to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated.
