Obituary for Marilyn Roberta McKay

The passing of Marilyn Roberta McKay of Fredericton, NB occurred on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at pine Grove Nursing Home. Born in Fredericton, NB on March 25, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Leona (Wade) Stafford.

Mom was an avid bowler and loved to play darts; she loved the competition. She also had a great love for Christmas and could not wait to decorate her entire house. She loved to bake and was at her happiest when the house was full of kids, her boy’s friends and later in life her grandchildren. Mom always wore a smile and was always telling jokes. She loved to collect porcelain dolls and loved her butterflies. Everything she had in her house had a butterfly on it from tea towels to earrings to Christmas ornaments. Mom will be missed by all.

Marilyn is survived by her sons, Rodney (Deanna), Derrick (Gladys); grandchildren, Victoria, Erica, Joshua, Jarrett and Kendra; along with several great grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters Darlene MacPherson and Anna Marie Doucette.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Marilyn’s life at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Monday, July 29, 2019 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.

In lieu of flowers remembrances can be made to the Alzheimer Society. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
