Obituary for Douglas Robert David Hallett

It is with profoundness and broken hearts, the family announces the sudden and unexpected passing of Douglas Robert David Hallett on July 15th, 2019 at the age of 52 years old due to an unforeseen medical condition. Doug was born in Saint John N.B. on April 27th 1967. In his youth , Doug was a proud member of the #9 RCSCC Rodney Sea Cadets until joining the Royal Canadian Navy in 1988 as a diver and marine engineer until his retirement.


Doug is survived by his children Alexandra, Mikaela, MacKenzie, Noah and grandson Chase. His parents Eugene Hallett and Joan St.Onge. Dougs siblings John (Michelle), Faith (David), Paul (Karen), Tim (Michelle), Andrew (Ami), Cathy (Mike) Susan, Sharon (Howard). Many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, aunts and uncles and extended family in Nfld. Doug is survived by his girlfriend Kerri Campbell and best friend and rock Bonnie Korbely.

Tragically, Doug was predeceased by his oldest daughter Ashley and step mother Edna Parks.

Doug had a large family and circle of friends all of which will miss him greatly. His greatest love was his children, his partner, friends and his beloved career serving his country. Music, travel and his sleek black Cadillac became his passions later in life and will be remembered for those by his loved ones. Doug was a kind soul, a gentleman, Loving Dad, wonderful son and the best brother one could ask for. We love You.

A celebration of Doug’s life will be held 2pm, Tuesday, August 6th at the Royal Canadian Branch #160, 703 Main St, Dartmouth.

Doug, You left us too soon, a piece of our hearts go with You. You gave us beautiful memories to forever hold true to our hearts. Till we meet again Rest in peace and stand down Sailor.
