Obituary for Gérard L. Niles

Gérard L. Niles, 94, of Cap–Pelé passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 25th, 2019 at the Dr. Georges–L. Dumont UHC. Born in Bas–Cap–Pelé, he was the son of the late Willy and Emma (Thibodeau) Niles.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Louisa, née Landry; one daughter, Lorette Cormier (Ola) of Cap–Pelé; two sons: Ronald Cormier (Martine) of Saint–André–LeBlanc and Paul Cormier (Maryann) of Bouctouche Sud; a daughter in–law, Fernand Dupuis; a son in–law, Daniel Gaudet; 11 grandchildren; 11 great–grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two children: Rose Gaudet and Normand; a great–granddaughter, Véronique Cormier; seven siblings: Arthur, Charlie, Eva Monk, Marguerite Brine, Edmée Niles, Olive Landry and David.

The funeral mass was celebrated on July 29th, 2019 at Ste–Thérèse–d’Avila R. C. church, 2648 Acadie Road, Cap–Pelé at 10:30 am. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

In memory of Gérard, a contribution to Habileté Sud–Est would be appreciated.

Funeral arrangements were in the professional care of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Cap–Pelé (577–3297).
