Obituary for Marie Beaulieu-Boychyn

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Beaulieu-Boychyn on Wednesday July 24th at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. We lost a gem and gained an angel.

Mary was born on January 28, 1924 in New Zion (Minto), New Brunswick and was fiercely proud of her Robichaud and Acadian ancestry.

Eldest of Norbert Robichaud of St. Paul, NB and Suzanne (Richard) of Bouctouche Bay, NB.

She was predeceased by her parents, siblings; Lawrence & Joe Robichaud, Julie Nutter, and Ida Dykeman, 1st husband Leo Beaulieu (married for 45 years), 2nd husband George Boychyn (married for 8 years), daughter Elaine Whelton and three nephews.

Mary is survived by her children Claire Boychyn (Bob), Gerard Beaulieu (Geri), and Anne-Marie Kraus (Peter), son-in-law Michael Whelton, stepson Don Boychyn (Ellen), sister-in-law Lucy (Joe). 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and lifetime special friend Barb Bodo.

Mary was a loving and nurturing wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Her faith, family, children and friends were the most important things in her life. She valued higher education, had a fierce sense of right and wrong and instilled those in all of her family. Her favourite activities included talking, cooking and playing bridge. Mary will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by family and friends in Whitby, Florenceville, Fredericton, and Minto.

The family wishes to thank Lynde Creek Manor for providing a great home for Mom, and all the nurses and doctors who provided kind and compassionate care to her over her final weeks.

Celebration of life memories will take place at Barnes Funeral Home (address) in Whitby, Ontario. Saturday August 31, 2019. Visitation at 10am, Service at 11am (reception to follow). Mary’s final resting place will be in Edmundston, NB with her first husband Leo Beaulieu. Edmundston arrangements will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Leo The Great’s Church in Florenceville, NB or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to a charity of your choice.
