Obituary for Allan Earle MacKinnon

Allan Earle MacKinnon of Cumberland Bay, New Brunswick, passed away on August 2, 2019, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton, at the age of 75.

“Allie” was born on April 6, 1944, at the Saint John General Hospital. He was the only child of Ralph Albert MacKinnon and Gladys Anne (Phillips) MacKinnon. Allie was raised from a young age in Cumberland Bay by his mother’s first–cousin, Edna (Colwell) Ellsworth, and her husband, Frank Ellsworth. In his adult life, Allie lived with his foster–brother, Allan Clifford Grant. For the past 15 years, Allie has lived independently in his own home. Throughout his lifetime, his daily routine of bicycling around Cumberland Bay made him a fixture in his beloved community.

Visitation with family and neighbours will take place at the Chipman Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 6, 2019, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. His funeral service will be held at the Chipman Funeral Home Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, August 7, 2019, at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in the Cumberland Bay Community Cemetery (United Church).

Donations to this cemetery would be appreciated (contact Lynn Fairweather at 506–339–8848).

Arrangements are in the compassionate care of Chipman Funeral Home & Crematorium. Memories and condolences may be shared online at www.chipmanfuneralhome.ca or by telephone at 506–339–6612.
