Obituary for Muriel LeBlanc

1926 – 2019
Muriel LeBlanc, 93, of Moncton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 4, 2019 at The Villa du Repos. Born in Cocagne, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Marie (Léger) Melanson.

She is survived by her three daughters, Odette LeBlanc Pellerin of Grande–Digue, Nicole LeBlanc of Moncton and Lisette Surette (Paul) of Moncton ; her son: Claude (Murielle) of Dieppe; her sister, Albertine LeBlanc of Moncton; her six grandchildren; her two great–grandchildren and by several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Francis J. “Frank” (1986); her grandson, André Doiron; her sisters, Irène Cormier, Bernadette LeBlanc and Lina Plamondon; her brothers, Émile, Edmond, Alphée, Lionel, Gérard, Oscar, Irenée and Arsène.

Muriel was a very sociable woman who loved visiting with family and friends. With her husband she enjoyed spending the winter months at St. Petersburg, Florida and summers at the cottage at Cap Bimet. In later years a trailer at Robichaud replaced the cottage. In addition to her beloved card games of 200, her hobbies included reading, crocheting and quilting.

The family is particularly grateful for the exceptional care provided by the staff at le Manoir Notre–Dame, la Villa Providence and la Villa du Repos. Also appreciated are the services of the three physicians who looked after her for so many years: Dr. William Taylor, Dr. Vicki Taylor and Dr. Christopher Gallant.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858–1900) on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 from 2 to 4 pm and from 7 to 9 pm only. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Notre–Dame–de–la–Paix RC Church, 87 Murphy Avenue, Moncton on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at 11 am. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery, Dieppe.

In memory of Muriel, a contribution to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.Words of comfort and donations may be done at: www.frenettefuneralhome.com.
