Obituary for John "Jack" McLaughlin

It is with deep regret that we announce the death of our brother, John F. McLaughlin (Jack) on July 28th in Vernon, BC. The son of Daniel and Lucretia (Hudson) McLaughlin, Jack was born April 18th, 1934 in South Branch, Kent Co., NB.

Jack made the military his career, travelling all over the world. After retiring from military service, he worked for Corrections Canada for sixteen years. Jack kept busy with gardening, woodworking and even built four houses in his spare time. Jack was active in his Vernon Community in Service Clubs, his church and especially the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed travelling, especially home to South Branch.

Jack is survived by his wife Irene (O'Hare), his children Debbie Weins (Rob), Dan (Maureen), Ann Bonnell (Fred) Mark, Linda Martin (Burke), his eleven beloved granchildren, two sisters Mary MacIntyre (Joe) and Ellen Oulton as well as his nieces and nephews, many cousins and one aunt Catherine Ann Hudson.

Jack was predeceased by his parents, his two brothers, Walter and Joe McLaughlin, his sister Maureen Lalonde and his daughter-in-law Janice McLaughlin.

A funeral mass was held in Vernon, BC and a memorial service will be held in South Branch at a later date (TBD) where his ashes will be interred in St. Peter's Cemetery.

We thank everyone for the many condolences received.
