Obituary for Gail Rickard

August 8, 1947 – August 4, 2019

After a short battle with brain cancer, Gail passed away peacefully at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on August 4, 2019 with her family by her side. Born on August 8, 1947 Gail was chosen by Alexander and Frances Tiner.

Gail grew up on the shores of the Bay of Fundy at Tiner’s Point and Chance Harbour, NB until she married Michael on September 16, 1967. They have spent the last 52 years living in NB and PEI raising their children, welcoming spouses and spoiling their grandchildren.

Gail worked at McDonalds in Charlottetown (1981–1984) and McDonalds in Fredericton (Prospect Street) from 1984–2012.

Her family will miss her desperately as she leaves behind to mourn: Michael Rickard, her husband of 52 years. Bethany Wood (Dale), Robyn Dean (Joel), Randy (Trish), Troy (Nancy); grandchildren, Laurana Yasinski (Nikolas), Kristen Wood, Spencer and Natasha Dean, Ariel and Addison Rickard, her grand dogs and cats along with her extended family and friends.

Gail is predeceased by her parents, Alex and Frances Tiner and her birth mother, Edna McKnight.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff on 3E for their kindness and support during Gail’s brief illness.

A Celebration of Life will be held August 31, 2019 at 2 pm at the Devon Park Baptist Church, 145 Clark Street, Fredericton, NB.

In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the IWK or Ronald McDonald House. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
