Obituary for Lt. Colonel James Little, MD

Passed away peacefully and with dignity, in Halifax, NS on Saturday, April 20th, 2019, thanks to the compassion shown by Dr. George, to have his wish of assisted dying carried out. He was 91 years old. Born in 1928 he spent his formative years in York Mills, New Brunswick.



His formal education was at the University of New Brunswick, Dalhousie and Queens with courses completed at Harvard University as well. He served his country for over 20 years with the Royal Canadian Air Force before moving to the wonderful community of Yarmouth, to finish out his Radiology career.



A friend to everyone who knew him, Dr. Little was predeceased by his wife, Laura Frances (Wood); parents, Rosella and Kenneth Little and more recently his beloved sister, Ruth Mack.



He is survived by all of his children, Kenneth Bradley Little and his wife Wendy (VanExan); Deborah Kirkby and her husband Arthur; Rodney Little and his wife Suzanne (Herron); Janice Myra and her husband Darrell; Scott Little and his wife Raveena (Ramphal). He had 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and many other relations in the New Brunswick and Maine area. He also leaves a very special friend and companion, Patricia Rodney and her dear family.



A memorial luncheon will be held at St. Andrews United Church CE Centre, 2350 Route 3, Harvey, York Co., NB on Saturday, August 24, 2019 from 12 noon until 2 pm when friends can visit with the family and share memories of the man everyone knew as Junior. Interment will follow at the Harvey Settlement Cemetery with Rev. Christine Johnson officiating.
