Obituary for Brian Burley

Brian Douglas Burley, born July 2, 1952, to the late Donald and Bernice (Fudge) Burley, passed away surrounded by his loving family at the Saint John Regional Hospital on August 8, 2019.
Brian was a proud South Ender, born and raised. Usually, you could find him working in his garage on Broad Street, volunteering with St. John the Baptist parish, hosting Thursday night Beer and Bible, or actively improving the city’s South End. Brian always enjoyed time with his wife Julia at their camp on Lake Utopia, whether it was boating, barbequing or building a new deck; he always kept busy.
Brian is survived by his wife Julia (Noddin), children, Christa, Brian (Vanessa) and Jennifer (Daniel); grandchildren, Cayla, Ryan, Carlie, Chelsie, Julia Maria and Logan; and great granddaughter Cali, as well as siblings Donna, Patsy (Bob) Laver, Eddie (Debbie) and Kenny (Sue) and many nieces and nephews.
Brian will forever be remembered as a loyal friend and family man who could always be relied on to give a helping hand, some advice, or a solution.
His family would like to take this time to thank the nurses, doctors, and staff of the Palliative Care Unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital for the care and compassion shown to both Brian and family.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) where visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception (91 Waterloo Street) on Monday, August 12, 2019 at 12:10pm with a private family interment to follow. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of the Saint John Regional Hospital or the charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be made at www.fundyfuneralhome.com.
