Obituary for Faye Dezan

1949 - 2019
Faye (McLaughlin) Dezan, 70, of South Tetagouche, formerly of Blackville, NB, passed away at the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst on August 8, 2019.
Born in Blackville, NB, she was the daughter of the late Hugh and Edna (Gillespie) McLaughlin.
Faye was a homemaker, a bookkeeper for her husband’s business, a former home and school member, a former long time St. John’s Ambulance Volunteer and a dedicated rink mom.
She loved romance novels, her daily newspapers, a good game of bingo, jewelry and outings to Tim Hortons with her friends. She especially enjoyed her family.
She fought her illness bravely and with quiet dignity.
Faye was a devoted wife and loving mother. She is survived by and will be sadly missed by her husband of 48 years Fane “Sonny”, two beloved sons: Fane and Darrell (Jessica) Dezan both of Bathurst, her much loved grandchildren: Noah, Zachary, and Katelynn. Sister Margaret “Peggy” McLaughlin (Ronald Sturgeon) of Blackville, brother Hughie McLaughlin (Wendy) of Fredericton, nephew Darcy (Vanessa), niece Susan (Chris O’Brian) and her first cousin Betty-Ann (McLaughlin) Hallihand (Lawrence) of Ontario.
Faye’s greatest gift was her kind and generous soul. She was especially generous and loving to Brenda, her first cousin and Susan her niece. Brenda became the daughter she never had.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, August 13th, 2019 from 7-9 p.m. at Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 14th at 10 a.m. from St. Raphael’s Catholic Church, 107 Main St., Blackville, NB.
Donations in memory of Faye may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Canadian Diabetes Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice.
