Obituary for Ruth Pearl Maxwell

It is with great sadness that the family of Ruth Pearl (Reynolds) Maxwell, wife of Richard H. Maxwell announce her passing on Wednesday, August 14, 2019, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, surrounded by her family. Born on August 23, 1942 in St. Stephen, NB, she was a daughter of the late Melbourne and Bessie (Mitchell) Reynolds.

Ruth enjoyed traveling and exploring many countries with her devoted husband Dick. During the summer months she looked forward to visits from her grandchildren. She loved the time spent in Florida during the winter months, socializing, horse racing and dancing at the club house.

Ruth is survived by her husband Richard H. Maxwell; daughters: Suzanne Dickison (Andy) and Laurie MacDonald (Bruce); grandchildren: Eryn (Trevor), Tessa, Kaitlyn, Chloe and Matthew; brother, William Reynolds of Old Ridge, NB; sister, Marion Fisher (Colin) of St. Andrews; brother–in–law, Dr. Eric McCartney of Rothesay, NB along with many nephews and nieces.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters: Marjorie Reynolds, Christine McCartney, Pauline Boyd (Hazen) and B. Jean Reynolds; sister–in–law, Hazel Marie Reynolds; and niece, Diane Godfrey.

Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634–7424). In keeping with Ruth’s wishes there will be no formal visitation. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, August 19, 2019 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at Shadow Lawn Inn, 3180 Rothesay Road, Rothesay, NB. Words of Remembrance will begin at 3:00 pm.

Donations to SJRH – The Give, SJRH – Cardiac Health and Wellness Clinic or a charity of the Donor’s Choice would be appreciated by Ruth’s family. Online condolences may be placed at www.BrenansFH.com.
