Obituary for Thelma Mary Elizabeth MacMillan

The passing of Thelma Mary Elizabeth MacMillan, wife of the late John MacMillan, occurred on Friday, August 16, 2019 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on March 17, 1933 in Seaside, NB she was the daughter of the late Peter and Isabel (Mallaley) McCarthy.

Thelma is survived by her children, Rhonda MacMillan, Norris MacMillan (Denise), Dr. Bryce MacMillan (Susan) and Dr. Vona MacMillan (Gaétan); grandchildren, Jennifer, Megan, Danielle, Chris and Monica; sisters, Bernice Young and Veronica McCarthy; brother, Stanley McCarthy (Gervance); several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Thelma was predeceased by her granddaughter, Brittany Ann MacMillan, and sisters, Carmel McCarthy, Marion Canning and Ethel Miller.

One of the highlights in her life was going to Malaysia with her husband and four children to live for a year. Thelma was a passionate nurse and was willing to help anyone in need. She was also a devoted catholic.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated from St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Fredericton, NB on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at 1 pm with Father Martin Arputham as celebrant. Interment took place at St. Anthony’s Cemetery.

For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Fredericton SPCA or a charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
