Obituary for Judtih Ann McCagherty

June 21, 1943 – August 13, 2019
It is with absolute heartbreak that we announce the passing of our beautiful Judy on Tuesday, August 13th at the age of 76. Judy was born June 21, 1943 in Alberta and has called Moncton home since 1981.

Judy is predeceased by her father Leslie George McCagherty (1982) and mother Berna Maxine McCagherty (nee Alwood) (1945) and her much loved Grandmother Emma Elizabeth McCagherty.

Left to mourn are her stepchildren Brett, Dale (Teena), Cindy, and Cheryl, sister Sharon (Mel), brothers Barry (Jill) and Neil (Gina), grandchildren; Sara, Benjamin, Hannah, Emma, Madelaine and William. Her nieces and nephews Danny (Sheila), Dwayne (Jill), Todd (Kerri), Shelli (Bruce), Susanne, Taylor and Mikey. Graham (Sheri), Brent (Thai), Sean (Amy) and Devin (Sarah). Her great nieces and nephews as well as many great friends who she considered family.

Judy was a kind and gentle woman. A talented cook, she enjoyed entertaining with her many friends whom she loved. She was passionate about politics and a proud Progressive Conservative. She spent many years volunteering and working for candidates and elected officials. For her tireless work, she was awarded honorary lifetime membership in the Progressive Conservative Party of New Brunswick. Judy touched many lives and all will remember her smile.

We wish to express our gratitude to Susan, Kelly, and the staff at Serenecare for the compassionate care they provided to Judy. Although a beautiful light has been extinguished, we will always remember her love for her family and many friends.

In respect of Judy’s wishes there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at St. Phillip’s Anglican Church, 30 Lynch Street, Moncton, NB on Thursday, August 22 at 2:00 pm followed by a reception in the church hall. A graveside celebration will be held in Edgerton, Alberta at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation or Hospice Southeast, New Brunswick will be appreciated.

Arrangements are entrusted to Fair Haven Funeral Home, 1177 Salisbury Road, Moncton (506) 852–3530. A book of condolences may be signed at www.fairhavenmemorial.ca.
